Gavin Mount was born, and grew up, in East Anglia in the United Kingdom. After studying photography and film in London, Gavin has worked in a range of photographic fields, producing unique images for commissions and projects. Gavin's ability to work with people in sometimes difficult conditions has helped to establish his reputation for travel and reportage work; but he has also worked in fashion, advertising and publicity photography.

Since the 1980s Gavin has worked with both digital as well as with conventional techniques, using whichever medium is best suited to produce the optimal image. Gavin also has extensive experience of new and mixed media, exploring, and blurring, the boundaries between still and moving image. As well as working to commissions Gavin produces his own work for exhibition and publication.

Gavin currently works out of Norwich, Norfolk in the U.K., where the nearby coast provides peace and inspiration.
